So um yeah, it's been a hot minute (more like over a year) since I've updated here.  Been unemployed for over a year and a half, and I tell you, being on unemployment helps, but it doesn't cover all your expenses, especially when you have a family to take care of.  Still looking for that elusive full-time gig while trying to snag as much freelance as possible.  Got a few pieces that I can throw up here, now that they're published, so be on the lookout for them soon...

Well, I gotta tell ya, I really haven't been busy at all with any work since the birth of my incredible son, and I wouldn't have it any other way!  Being unemployed lets me spend all my time helping my wife raise my son.  Amazingly enough, he's already a month old!  Being a parent really changes your perspective on life and priorities.

BUT I just picked up some SUH-WEET freelance work from the company that took over the World of Warcraft TCG game.  I'll be continuing my work on designing logos for the game for a hot minute....AND get paid way more than I did when I was doing if over at Upper Deck.  WIN-WIN!

As soon as the product gets released, I'll be sure to be posting them here...

Until then, I'm gonna go back to just staring at my son sleep all day.....  :)

So, some of you might have heard, and some of you might not even know, but Upper Deck had the biggest layoff ever it's ever had on March 11th, 2010.  I, along with many many greatly talented and awesome people found themselves jobless.  Now, I'm actually glad I don't work there anymore.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVED working on the things I worked on while I was there, and I absolutely LOVED all the people I worked with.  But the greed and the incredibly stupid business decisions of one person really made it more and more difficult to say I was proud to be a part of the company.

This post comes a little late, due to OTHER major adjustment in my life, namely the impending arrival of my baby boy.  Since the layoff, I've been doing all I can to get the baby room all ready, painting, wallpapering, cleaning, etc.  It's actually a lot of work!  And it's still in progress.  I can't really express how excited I am to be a dad.  My wife and I have been trying for so very long, so this is truly a blessing for us both.

Now comes all difficult stuff.  My wife's job is will be moving north an hour & a half away while she's on maternity leave, and I'm still looking for a full-time gig.  The logistics of putting food on the table, not wanting to have to empty our pockets on childcare, and figuring out how the hell we're gonna be able to get another car for my wife to commute with is a bit to deal with.  I'm still playing with the idea of just going full-time freelance so that I can stay home and care for my child, and still get paid.  But as a lot of freelancers know, going full-time freelance is a scary endeavor.  But we'll see how everything will play out.

I'm looking forward to all the bigger and better things laying ahead of me, and I know it's not gonna be that easy getting there, but I'm ready for it.  I have to be I've got a future artist coming soon who'll depend on me being ready.  Now I know, I'm not the most avid poster on dA, but I try to post stuff as soon as I'm able to.  But I'm apologizing in advance for the bigger delay in posts, considering what's going on right now.  I'll let you all know what's up, as soon as I can.

Well yah, it's about time I've updated my page here.  Just been really busy trying to make ends meet, that I haven't had a chance to post new stuff up.  That, all the designs that I just posted couldn't be shared, until they went up for sale.  So, here's a bunch of new designs I've done for my homie's clothing line, Dyse One Clothing.  Really enjoy doing stuff for him , because I'm allowed to get really creative with my work.  And just a small reminder that if you like the designs, you can pick them up as shirts from Dyse's website.  There's a ton of dope stuff there, including some of the previous designs I've posted here.  Go check it out, and help support the art!

I've also got a few logo designs that I've done for my daytime job at Upper Deck that I'll be posting shortly. Hope everyone's new year has gotten off to a great start so far!

Peace!

FINALLY...

2 min read
So, a while back, (over a year ago), I was asked to design a women's shoe for DC Shoes.  And that I did, way back when.  A little over a year later, it's finally made production and is now out in the market for sale!  It's also a girl's shoe, which is really nice pair of kicks for your little girl.  So, I'm posting it now, for you to peep/admire/diss/ridicule to your heart's content.  Hope you like it, I'm kinda proud of it, considering it's my very first (of many more to come) shoe design.  A little side note...the black & turquoise  colorway printed pretty horribly... don't ask... not my fault.  But the white & pink colorway came out pretty fresh.  Also later in the summer, I hear that Journeys will be carrying their own colorway of this shoe as well.  So check it out, and if you want to order a pair, here's the link to the DC Shoes Online Store:

for the women's version:  store.dcshoes.com/Products/WOM…

for the girl's version:  store.dcshoes.com/Products/KID…

And if you end up getting a pair, take a pic of you wearing your kicks and send it my way!  I love seeing peeps rockin' stuff I create!
